AD+A, Inc. provided master planning and urban design services to redevelop the 1,128-acre, blighted South Dallas neighborhood adjacent to a Frazier Courts public housing project already scheduled for demolition and replacement. AD+A, Inc. presented development options and a strategic revitalization approach to the client, the Dallas Housing Authority (DHA).
The development strategy proposed the construction of approximately 4 million s.f. of new buildings, and an increase in population from 6,484 to between 10,500 and 12,500 people. Also proposed were 2,100 new residential units and the renovation of 1,500 existing units, an investment between $200 and 300 million. AD+A, Inc. identified five strategic initiatives and advocated for the formation of an umbrella organization to oversee project implementation.
