The $1.2 billion Logan Airport Modernization Program was designed to allow for the airport to grow to 45 million annual passengers. The AD+A, Inc. team produced five manuals which define the priority projects and outline: facility space requirements; level of service and planning standards; design guidelines; construction and phasing considerations; relationships to other modernization projects; and conceptual designs. The flexible modernization program allows projects to be constructed either simultaneously or separately as necessitated by passenger demand. The plan upgrades obsolete air terminals and infrastructure and provides landscaped parkland and other amenities to the surrounding communities. The program included new roadway improvements, an inter-terminal automated transportation system, new terminal facilities and parking structures, and a service tunnel that will link the north and south airside aprons. |
